There are many different coaches out there,
and finding the right one might be a daunting task.
Hockey coaches are generally good at teaching the game of hockey,
and figure skating coaches are good for breaking down
and teaching the mechanics of skating.
Where do I fit in?
I am an ex figure skater with not only hockey knowledge and experience, but I was also a speed skater. For many years, I too taught power skating to hockey players in my figure skates. But once I started playing hockey,
I never again stepped on the ice with a hockey player wearing my figure skates. Everything about the way I skate in hockey skates is different than the way I would skate wearing my figure skates. And because of this, the way I teach skating in one pair of skates is different than the way I would teach in my other skates.
My 16 years of competitive figure skating experience, along with several years of vigorous training for speed skating, combined with 13 years of ice hockey knowledge make me a slightly different coach than most.
OK, perhaps I'm a lot different some might say.
I'm so convinced you will find your skating experience with me different than the rest, that I am willing to offer any new customer a 30 minute lesson backed with 100% satisfaction guaranteed. If you can honestly tell me that you did not learn anything new, or you do not feel that my coaching can or will help your skating, you are free to walk away — guaranteed!
I am also willing to put that offer on the table for new teams that I am currently not already working with.
I will guarantee any new team that not only will your players benefit from my teaching but you as coaches will learn, if you want, something about teaching skating to your team as well as you will be exposed to some new drills that show you how to combine all of the aspects of
skating, stick-handling, and shooting.
